My little boy, Scott, just loves your show. Oh, how he laughs and laughs. But more importantly, he admires you as a person. That is why I decided to reach out the only way I knew how: this website built just for wonderful you!

Years ago, Scott spoke at his graduation from Colby College. And after working as an advertising copywriter and creative director,

he landed a sitcom fellowship at Walt Disney Studios (only 4 out of 1000 were chosen!) But he didn't like the superficial person he was becoming in L.A. It was all about "getting in" and not the work itself. So he returned home to family and started writing screenplays. He won a few contests, but nothing ever got produced. Oh, it made me so mad.

Scott is kind and adorable; and I say this without bias, despite a very long labor and difficult delivery.

He is also incredibly considerate. For example, he always picks his feet up whenever I vacuum around the couch. And if I had a nickel for every time he's poured his own cereal, I’d be a very rich woman.

Scott missed his calling. So I set a new goal for my little boy: I want him to be the oldest junior comedy writer in the history of late-night television. And he'll prove himself in any way you see fit.

Oh, Mr. Colbert, we can make history together. And yes, I know there’s really no reason for you to help. But I'm grasping at straws here.

Please, just give my boy this one chance, and I swear I'll never ask you for anything again. Thank you!

My darling boy:

Scott Lainer
